Marikina remains on third alarm as river level reaches 20.6 meters

The third alarm remained raised on Saturday over Marikina City as the Marikina River spilling level reached 20.6 meters as of 9:58 p.m. due to continuous heavy rain
Earlier, at 5:15 p.m., the water level was at 18.3 meters, which prompted the city government to force its residents to evacuate their homes and move to designated temporary shelters.

Earlier on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a red warning over Metro Manila due to expected intense rainfall that could cause flooding in the region.
Alarm level 2 was raised over the city of Marikina at around 2:22 p.m. after its spilling level reached 16.3 meters. /atm
