President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Court of Appeals Associate Justice Jose Reyes as a new Supreme Court Associate Justice, a Palace official said Friday.
“Yes and he will take his oath on Monday. He is still in the US,” Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go told INQUIRER.net in a text message when asked to confirm the appointment of Reyes.
Reyes is set to take over the position vacated by Associate Justice Presbitero Velasco Jr., who reached mandatory retirement on August 7. /kga
