Monsoon rain to persist in Luzon – Pagasa
Expect a wet Friday as the southwest monsoon, still enhanced by tropical storm “Karding,” will continue to bring rain over parts of Luzon, the state weather bureau said.
Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol Region will experience monsoon rains, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Karding, which has an international name Yagi, was last spotted 1,150 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes and is expected to make its way out of the Philippine area of responsibility between later this evening and Saturday morning.
The storm packed maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph, moving north-northwest at 90 kph.
Cagayan Valley and Western Visayas will have overcast skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms.
Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain or thunderstorms, according to Pagasa. /kga
