Two unidentified men were killed in a police encounter in Quezon City on Friday morning, authorities said.
Operatives from the Quezon City Police District’s Batasan Station rushed to Payatas Road corner San Miguel Street at about 4:55 a.m. after receiving a phone call from an unnamed citizen that a group of men were dismantling a tricycle, according to police report.
Upon seeing the responding policemen, the suspects allegedly opened fire leading to a shootout. The two suspects died on the spot.
Police said both suspects wore masks, baseball caps, and long-sleeved shirts.
Police also said two other individuals believed to be cohorts of the slain suspects managed to escape aboard a motorcycle towards Montalban, Rizal. /kga
