The rogue policemen scolded by President Duterte on Tuesday for alleged involvement in criminal activities may again find themselves in hot water for taking a leak on a century-old balete tree inside the Palace grounds.
“We will initiate an investigation on this matter,” National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Guillermo Eleazar told reporters.

According to Eleazar, 87 of the 102 policemen castigated by President Duterte for alleged involvement in various criminal activities, including kidnapping and the illegal drugs trade, were from Metro Manila.
“We will ask the officers who were there so we can identify (the culprits),” the NCRPO chief said.
After scolding the police, the President proceeded to the joint Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines command conference but ordered the police to remain standing at the Palace grounds until the meeting was over.
The President warned that he would not hesitate to kill policemen, particularly those involved in illegal drugs and corruption.
“I will review your cases… I will have a special unit that will monitor you throughout your life and if you commit just one mistake again, I will give orders to kill you,” President Duterte said. — CATHRINE GONZALES
