Senator Koko Pimentel
President Rodrigo Duterte will meet with his partymates at the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) following the infighting between party officials.
Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III said Duterte, who is the chairman of the PDP-Laban, said the President would meet with his partymates on August 9 in an undisclosed location.
In July, a faction of the PDP-Laban who claimed to be the genuine representatives of the party held an assembly, electing new party leaders, ousting Pimentel as party president and former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez as secretary-general.
“Meeting the President (Duterte) as party chair. SAP [Bong] Go invited [Rogelio] Bicbic Garcia too,” Pimentel told INQUIRER.net in a text message.
Pimentel refused to disclose further details about the meeting. /kga
