Inquirer named Newspaper of the Year by PMAP

MANILA, Philippines–The Philippine Daily Inquirer has received the Newspaper of the Year award from the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) during the group’s launching of the 1st PMAP Makatao Awards.

Inquirer President and CEO Sandy Prieto-Romualdez and Inquirer publisher Isagani Yambot received the award during the launching and awards rites held on Nov. 23, 2011 at the Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City.

PMAP launched the Makatao Awards for Media Excellence to honor members of the mass media (TV, radio and print) for their outstanding works, columns, features and contributions that enhance public understanding of the role and impact of good people management in both the public and private sector in the country.

The Newspaper of the Year award for the Inquirer was presented to Ms Romualdez and Mr. Yambot by PMAP president Schubert Caesar C. Austero and Jimmy M. Isidro, former PMAP president.
