The Metro Manila Council (MMC) will create a policy for a uniform class suspension.

Special traffic committee head Herbert Bautista said on Tuesday that the MMC agreed to create unified guidelines following the assassination threats received by Makati Mayor Abby Binay.

The Quezon City mayor also said it would be unfair for Metro Manila mayors to be suspended from their seats merely because of late announcements of class suspensions.

The reaction of Bautista came after people called the 8888 hotline of the government, complaining that their mayors were not suspending their classes.

He then clarified that the suspension of classes will still be under the directive of the local government units in the following days.   /vvp
