Villanueva: Federalism campaign ‘way out of Mocha’s league’

Senator Joel Villanueva said on Monday that Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson Mocha is “way out of her league to discuss federalism.”

The senator was reacting to the “lewd” jingle performed by a pro-Duterte blogger and Uson that went viral on social media.

In a statement, Villanueva also said the jingle is the “worst way to discuss and make the public understand federalism.”

“This is an insult to the intelligence of the public, the worst way to discuss and make the public understand federalism,” he said.

The jingle’s lyrics, which also drew the ire of many senators, include the line: “I-pepe, i-pepe, i-dede, i-dede, pepe pepe pederalismo!”

Villanueva said “this is not the kind of public information materials we expect from a government agency and a government official.”

Following President Rodrigo Duterte’s Consultative Committee’s (Con-com) decision to tap Uson for the federalism campaign, Senator Nancy Binay called on the sexy dancer-turned-blogger to present to the Senate the content of her federalism lectures.
