P200K worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Cavite
SAN PEDRO CITY — The police arrested two alleged members of a criminal gang and recovered from them P204,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Monday.
In a report issued by the Cavite police, provincial police chief Senior Supt. William Segun identified the suspects as Sonny Boy de Castro and Ronaldo Camantigue, both alleged members of the Camantigue Criminal Gang.
Segun said members of the Dasmariñas City police drug enforcement unit and the Cavite police Mobile Force served a search warrant at the home of gang leader Jerome Camantigue in Barangay Salawag around 9 a.m.
It was not immediately clear how Jerome and Ronaldo were related.
Segun said that when the police arrived, a group of men gathered around the house “scampered away,” prompting the police to chase them. Among those who escaped was Jerome, the police said.
The police recovered about 30 grams of alleged shabu, a rifle, a .45 caliber gun, and several ammunition. /ee
