‘PUSHER’ NABBED IN ARGAO

A MAN  was arrested on suspicion of peddling shabu in  Argao town, southern Cebu, on Friday.

Nelson Remoroza alias “Bulldog” was arrested in a buy-bust operation in barangay Looc by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) shortly after he allegedly sold a P300 pack of shabu to a poseur buyer.

Another pack of suspected shabu was recovered from Remoraza  after the arrest.

PDEA-7 agent Von Rien Tecson said their Manila office directed them to  monitor Remoroza because he was believed to be a level 2 drug pusher  capable of disposing more than 200 grams of shabu a week.

In an interview, Remoroza admitted selling drugs but said he was  a small-time  pusher who could only sell P5,000 worth of shabu per week.

He said he was forced to sell drugs so he could send his three children to  school./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON

BOY KILLED IN BORBON  MISHAP

A 6-YEAR-OLD boy was killed  when he was hit by a  motorcycle while he was crossing a street in barangay Laaw, Borbon town, northern Cebu, on Friday.

Johnny Mondero was declared dead when he was brought to the Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the motorcycle, Juffrey Senido, 37,  surrendered to the police.

Senido and his wife came from a fiesta celebration in Bogo City and were heading home when the accident occurred, said SPO2 Ernesto Rosalita of the Borbon police.

Senido told police that the boy suddenly crossed the road and he was not able to immediately step on the brakes./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC

GUARD HURT IN STABBING

AN off-duty security  guard was stabbed and wounded by a man outside a motel in barangay Sto. Niño, Cebu City. on Friday.

Alberto Cedeno Catuloy, 31, of Global Security Agency, was wounded in the back.

His attacker, Gabriel Flores Paro, 25, was arrested by police after the incident.

Police said Catuloy had hired the services of a  woman for P300 and brought her to a motel on Manalili Street.

There, the woman asked for additional payment but was  turned down by Catuloy.

The guard got his money back after he and the woman argued.

The guard left the motel and met Paro, whom he said glared  at him angrily.

The two came to blows before Paro stabbed the guard.

The wounded man sought the help of roving policemen.

Police arrested Paro, who hid in the motel’s comfort room./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
