Soldiers seize rebel camp in Isabela

CAMP MELCHOR DELA CRUZ, ISABELA — Army soldiers on Saturday seized a suspected New People’s Army camp at Jones town in Isabela province, the military said on Monday.

Army soldiers belonging to the 86th Infantry Battalion discovered the rebel camp in the mountains of Barangay (village) Santo Domingo and clashed with armed men there who fled, according to Army Captain Jefferson Somera, 5th Infantry Division spokesperson.


The camp was set up to accommodate ten people, Somera said. /je
