The crude and offensive jingle performed by a pro-Duterte blogger in Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson’s video blog entry was not at all part of the information drive for federalism.
This was the clarification of Ding Generoso, spokesman of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Consultative Committee (Con-com), after Uson drew flak over a lewd segment on her blog that went viral on social media.
The lyrics of the jingle, performed by a certain Drew Olivar in the video blog, includes the line: “I-pepe, i-pepe, i-dede, i-dede, pepe pepe pederalismo!”
But Generoso washed his hands off the controversy, saying the video blog was posted on social media on Thursday, a day before he met with Uson at Malacañang for a brainstorming session on the upcoming information drive.
Generoso also said the production of the video blog was not how they intended to make the campaign materials for federalism during his first official meeting with Uson.
The spokesman’s meeting with Uson was also attended by other representatives from the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) last Friday.
Generoso admitted he was shocked when he watched the video during the weekend.
He also said they would first assess the situation, including whether or not to still include Uson in Con-com’s federalism information drive, before deciding on the next course of action. Generoso said a statement would be issued within Monday regarding the matter.
The video blog was posted Thursday on the Uson’s Facebook page “MOCHA USON BLOG,” which has five million followers.
It only went viral after parody Facebook page “Malacañang Events and Catering Services” spliced the video and showed the lewd segment.
/kga
