The Philippine National Police on Monday announced that it was tracking down policemen being linked to criminal activities like kidnapping and murder.
PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said Monday that follow up operations are underway to arrest other suspects including PO1 Michael Omiping Siervo, his wife Margie, and several others tagged suspects in the kidnapping of Bonifacio Pascial Arcita last July 29 in Barangay Pansol, Calamba City.
“It was at the alleged safehouse owned by the Siervos in Barangay Tranca, Laguna, where the victim claimed that he was kept in captivity until released upon payment of ransom,” Albayalde told reporters.
The raid resulted in the confiscation of high-powered firearms, handguns, grenades, ammunition, Siervo’s PNP uniform and police badge.
Another policeman being pursued by his fellow lawmen is PO3 Mohammad Lacbao Tolete, who has been charged for the murder of Sapa-Sapa, Tawi-Tawi, Vice Mayor Alrasid Mohammad Lipae Ali.
Ali was gunned down last July 11 in Zamboanga City.
Tolete, who is assigned to the Lamitan City Police Station, was positively identified by eyewitness as the one who killed Ali, Albayalde said.
The suspect and the drivers of the getaway vehicles are now the subject of manhunt operations,” he added. /cbb
