IN THE KNOW: Alliance Select Foods International Inc.
Alliance Select Foods International Inc. was established in 2003 as a Philippine-based company engaged in tuna processing, canning and export of canned tuna.
The publicly listed firm, which started as Alliance Tuna International Inc., was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Sept. 1, 2003. A year later, it started commercial operations.
In 2008, the company expanded to Indonesia and built a canned tuna manufacturing plant. It also ventured into salmon processing.
In 2010, the tuna canning company changed its name to Alliance Select Foods International Inc. as the company planned to include salmon and other fish products in its product line.
Among the company’s board of directors are Antonio Pacis (chair), George E. SyCip (vice chair), Raymond See (president and CEO) and Marie Grace Vera-Cruz (board member), according to the firm’s latest SEC filing as of July 28, 2016.
The company’s founder and former president, Jonathan Dee, retired in 2016.
