Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship

Some 2,500 triathletes from over 45 countries gather in the long-distance triathlon event held in Cebu province.

The race starts at Shangri-La Mactan beach with a 1.9-kilometer swim.

Participants will then shift to a 90-km bike leg, before finishing with a 21-km run course.

Tig-Aw Festival

A thanksgiving festival at Tigaon in Camarines Sur province in honor of the town’s patroness, St. Clare of Assisi. Activities include an agri fair, farmers night, street dancing competition, blood letting program and agri float competition.

Guinobatan Longganisa Festival

The town of Guinobatan in Albay province showcases one of Bicol region’s food delicacies, “longganisa de Guinobatan.”

The popular pork sausage is under the government’s “One Town, One Product” program.

The festival’s theme this year is “Celebrating food, heritage, culture.”

Other events include a job fair, “buntis” congress, drum and lyre competition, boodle fight, tree planting activity and civic parade.
