2 crime gang members slain in Laguna shootout

SAN PEDRO CITY – Two alleged members of a criminal gang were killed in a police operation in Biñan City in Laguna province, police said Saturday.

Calabarzon police spokesperson Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran identified the slain suspects as  Darille Tabula and Johnrick Antoniano.

She said both men were part of the alias “Buddha Group” that engages in contract killing, robberies, and illegal drug trade, specifically in Barangay (village) Langkiwa.

In a message, Gaoiran said members of the regional police drug enforcement unit conducted a buy-bust operation that targeted the two around 10 p.m. Friday.

She said an undercover policeman was able to buy suspected shabu (crystal meth) worth P1,000.

“As police were about to arrest them, the suspects opened fire that prompted the shootout. Both suspects were killed instantly,” police said.

In Kawit, Cavite, a still unidentified man was found dead in Barangay San Sebastian around 11 p.m. Friday. The man appeared to be a victim of summary execution as he was found tied with a blue belt.
