A large portion of the country will continue to be affected by the southwest monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.
In its weather bulletin, the state weather bureau said Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and ARMM will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.
It added that Metro Manila, Calabarzon, the Bicol region, and the rest of the country will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms also due to the southwest monsoon.
Pagasa warns residents in the affected areas to take be ready for possible flooding and landslides caused by moderate to heavy rain.
Meanwhile, the northern and central sections of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought by local thunderstorms.
Possible flashfloods and landslides are also expected, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, the low pressure area (LPA) being monitored by Pagasa has been spotted at 2,195 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon and remains outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
Pagasa earlier said it is not expecting the LPA to enter the PAR. /muf
