A Talisay City Hall worker was arrested when police allegedly found packs of suspected shabu in his house during a raid in barangay Tangke, Talisay City, yesterday morning.
Police said packs of suspected shabu kept inside a matchbox were found in the kitchen of the house of Rynyl Juezan, a member of the City Security Unit.
Juezan accused the police of planting the evidence.
Juezan admitted that he posted bail eight years ago for drug charges.
“I have changed. I have realized that I’ll be putting my family’s lives in danger with drugs. It is impossible that they got those sachets of shabu at home because I no longer use them,” Juezan said in Cebuano.
Juezan’s 11-year-old daughter said she saw a policemen enter their house at the back door allegedly bringing a matchbox.
“He was a little fat. He was bringing a matchbox. He opened a drawer located near our kitchen and put the matchbox there. He even slammed the drawer closed,” she said.
“I also saw what he did. When he closed the drawer I attempted to go near to see what it was but the police barred me,” the girl said.
Chief Insp. Eddie Recamara, chief of the Talisay City police, denied the accusations that the seized drugs were planted./CORRESPONDENT CARINE M. ASUTILLA
