4 hurt as truck falls into ravine in Quezon
LUCENA CITY – Four people were injured when a Bicol-bound trailer truck fell into a 15-foot ravine in Atimonan town in Quezon province early Friday.
Sr. Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said the truck was negotiating a sharp curve along the descending portion of the diversion road in Barangay (village) Malinao Ilaya around 6:15 a.m. when its driver, Felix Duran, accidentally lost control of the vehicle.
The wayward vehicle consequently fell off the cliff on the right side of the highway, police said.
The driver and his wife Marylin Almazan; two helpers, Angel de la Peña and Noel Tulog, all sustained injuries and were taken to Doña Marta Hospital in Atimonan for treatment. /kga
