No weather disturbance affecting PH but rains to persist due to monsoon

From Pagasa website

There is no weather disturbance threatening the Philippines but rain will continue in most areas due to the southwest monsoon.

Palawan, Mindoro, Romblon, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and ARMM will have cloudy skies and scattered rains, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Friday.

Metro Manila, Marinduque, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have semi-cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.

The low pressure area (LPA) on the eastern side of the country is not expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility, according to Pagasa.

The weather bureau also issued a thunderstorm advisory at 5:45 a.m. Friday for Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

The advisory said heavy rains with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms would likely occur over Rizal, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite and Bulacan within the next 3 hours.

The above stated conditions were being experienced in Metro Manila and might persist within 2 hours, Pagasa said. This heavy rainfall caused flooding in several areas of Metro Manila.

All were advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards. Keep monitoring for updates. /kga
