Arrested drug suspect says ‘Davao area’ is drug source
ILIGAN CITY—The National Bureau of Investigation on Monday arrested two men and a boy for transporting more than a kilogram of marijuana in a case that an NBI official said “hurts” because one of those arrested was a kidnapping victim rescued by the NBI two years ago.
“Imagine, we risked our lives to rescue him because their families asked for help but now, we caught him,” said lawyer Abdul Jamal Dimaporo, head of the NBI office in this city, Lanao del Norte province.
“It’s ironic and it hurts,” Dimaporo said.
He was referring to Cedric Nicolo Jamias, 25, of Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat, one of those arrested for transporting the marijuana.
Rescued
Jamias, a newly-licensed electronics and communications engineer, was one of four students of Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology who were kidnapped two years ago and were rescued by Dimaporo’s team.

Jamias, according to Dimaporo, gets his drug supply from “somewhere in Davao area.”
