Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson on Thursday thanked Senator Nancy Binay for inviting her to attend the next Senate hearing on the proposed shift to a federal form of government.

In a video statement on Facebook, Uson said: “Nagpapasalamat tayo kay Sen. Nancy Binay sa kanyang pagconsider sa atin bilang resource person sa Senate hearing sa federalism.”

(I would like to thank Sen. Nancy Binay for considering me as a resource person in the Senate hearing on federalism.)

“Magkakaroon pa lang po kami ng brain storming sa Friday kasama ang Con-com [Consultative Committee] at PCOO [Presidential Communications Operations Office] at doon ko pa lang malalaman kung ano po ang aking magiging role dito po sa campaign for federalism,” she said.

(We are scheduled to have a brain storming on Friday including Con-com and PCOO and there we will know what role I will be playing for the campaign on federalism.)

On the other hand, Uson denied that she would give lectures about federalism and that she would accept P90 million to help in the campaign for Charter change.

“Hindi po totoo iyan, trabahante po ako ng gobyerno trabaho ko na po ang tumulong po sa dissemination of information tungklol sa pederalismo,” she clarified.

(That is not true, I’m just a government worker and I’m just working to help in the dissemination of information regarding federalism.)

Binay had invited Uson on Wednesday, August 1, to attend as among the resource persons for the Senate hearing on Charter change.

“Mas maganda kung mai-invite ni Sen. Kiko si Asec. Mocha as one of the resource persons sa kanyang committee para mag-present sa Senado,” the senator said in a statement.

(It is better that Sen. Kiko Pangilinan invites Asec. Mocha as one of the resource persons in his committee and to showcase something in the Senate.)

“Being the designated messenger, we also wanted to hear how she would articulate or interpret the salient points of the proposed federal charter and explain to the people how a shift in the form of government could move the country forward. Dagdag na rin ang kanyang iba pang concept or idea sa information campaign using social media,” she said. /jpv
