P7.2M ecstasy seized in QC buy bust, 3 arrested
Assorted party drugs valued at P7.2 million were seized on Wednesday night in a buy bust operation in Quezon City by combined agents from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Northern Police District (NPD), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
A report from the NPD said suspects Hazel Grace Lanugan, 21, Rafael Tadoran, 21, and Warren Calicdan, 34 , were also arrested during the bust.
Initial investigation said Lanugan, Tadoran, and Calicdan were nabbed after selling two pieces of ecstasy tablets worth P3,000 to an undercover police officer during the buy bust.
Seized from the suspects were the marked cash, assorted 2,756 tablets of ecstasy placed in 21 plastic sachets worth P4.68 million, 248 capsules of ecstasy in five plastic sachets worth P620,000 and 1.3 liters of liquid ecstasy contained in nine bottles with an estimated value of P250,000.
Agents also found 100 grams of shabu in a sachet, believed to be worth P500,000, and an additional six liters of liquid ecstasy worth P1.2 million.
The suspects, who are currently under the custody of the NPD, will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutors Office, police said. /muf
