TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — A worker was killed and three others were wounded after a portion of a building under construction gave way in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, past 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
The security guard of the building, who asked not to be named, told reporters that Gilbert Morales, died after he was crushed by debris from a concrete gutter that collapsed on the third floor of the building.
Seth Pajota, leader of Tarsier 117’s search and rescue team, said that three injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The structure was a commercial building being built by Dakay Construction at the corner of CPG Avenue and H. Grupo Street in downtown Tagbilaran.
The site used to house the Divine Word College of Tagbilaran (Holy Name University) but was leased by the Alturas Group of Companies. /atm
