12 suspects slain in 12-hour police ops in Bulacan
CAMP GEN. ALEJO S. SANTOS, Bulacan — Twelve suspects were slain in a span of 12 hours during simultaneous police operations in different Bulacan towns and cities that began at dawn on Wednesday (Aug. 1).
Six drug suspects, four suspected robbers and two motorcycle thieves died during encounters with the police, according to Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, chief of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office.
The following drug suspects were killed:
- Eugenio Tan in Santa Maria town
- Alden Gerobeise in Malolos City
- a certain Ogag in Pulilan town
- a certain Keng-keng in Obando town
- Mark Chester Manalang alias Amang in Baliwag town
- Dexter Dispo in Hagonoy town
Recovered from them were four .38-caliber revolvers and a still undetermined number of plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (crystal meth).
Bersaluna said the four slain robbers had not yet been identified. Three of them were suspected to have robbed a convenience store in San Rafael town. They reportedly fought back and were shot dead by police officers who gave chase.
Another suspected robber was killed by police officers who caught him attempting to break into a house in Barangay Bulihan in Malolos.
Recovered from them were two .45-caliber pistols, two .38-caliber revolvers, nine plastic sachets of what appeared to be dried marijuana leaves, several stolen items.
The two motorcycle thieves – identified only as Bogart and Albina – tried to sell a stolen motorcycle for P35,000 in Graceville 1 Subdivision, Barangay Muzon in the City of San Jose del Monte.
The suspects fired at police officers on sensing they were the targets of an entrapment operation. They were killed in the gun battle.
Bersaluna said 24 more drug suspects – two minors of them minors – were arrested in the towns of Plaridel, Balagtas, Pandi, San Ildefonso, Calumpit, and Bocaue and the City of San Jose Del Monte.
Seized from them were 53 plastic sachets of suspected shabu and five plastic sachets of dried marijuana leaves.
Bulacan police also arrested a suspect accused of attempted rape in Paombong town, two more motorcycle thieves in San Jose Del Monte, and a suspect who allegedly stabbed a barangay councilor in Calumpit. /atm
