There will be no transfer of airline companies to different terminals of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) for now.

In a statement on Monday, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said the reshuffling of some airline companies’ terminal assignments on Aug. 31 “would not proceed as originally envisioned.”

According to the MIAA, it has deferred the implementation of the Terminal Regularization Program through a letter dated June 5 addressed to Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento, chair of the House committee on transportation.

Under the program, Naia Terminals 1 and 3 would be reserved for international flights while Terminals 2 and 4 would be used solely for domestic flights.

The MIAA said that discussions with some airline operators “gave rise to unforeseen operational constrains that require [more] time to resolve.”
