Makabayan opposition members of the House of Representatives have officially joined the Liberal Party-led minority group at the chamber.
LP member Marikina Rep. Romero Quimbo wrote a letter to Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Monday, formally stating their intent to organize as the minority group.
A total 22 lawmakers, including previously independent Makabayan members, are already members of the bloc.

The Makabayan opposition bloc earlier said they were ready to unite with a minority group that is ready to oppose what they label as President Rodrigo Duterte’s alleged “dictatorship” and the administration’s supposed “anti-people” policies, especially the proposed Charter change. /vvp
