A former barangay chairman in Cebu City reportedly escaped death Monday morning after his bodyguard shot dead one of two alleged assailants.
Initial reports said two men tried to ambush former Barangay Tejero chair and now councilman Jessielou Cadungog at the corner of T. Padilla Extension and Alviola Street in Cebu City.
However, Cadungog’s bodyguard, who was not identified, reportedly managed to shoot one of the gunmen.
The other assailant, Michael Banua, is now under the custody of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO). /cbb
