SAN PEDRO CITY — A suspected car thief was killed by the police in a shootout in Biñan City in Laguna province Saturday evening, police said on Sunday.
A report from the regional police headquarters said a joint operation by the adjacent Sta. Rosa and Biñan police targeted Bien delos Reyes, who was “wanted for carnapping,” in Barangay (village) Sto. Niño around 11:30 p.m.
The suspect, however, opened fire, prompting the shootout.
The police recovered a .38 caliber gun from Delos Reyes. /je
