SAN PEDRO CITY – The town of Tanay in Rizal province held a plebiscite on Saturday for the proposed creation of another barangay (village).

Should the “yes” votes win, Sitio (sub village) Madilay-dilay will become separate from its mother village, Sampaloc. This will also bring to 20 the number of villages in Tanay.

Lawyer Juanito Icaro, director of the Commission on Elections in Calabarzon, said Barangay Sampaloc, with 14,488 registered voters, used to be the biggest in Tanay.
