Duterte to lead destruction of smuggled cars
President Rodrigo Duterte will travel to Port Irene in Cagayan province next week to preside over the destruction of another fleet of smuggled luxury cars and motorcycles there.
“Maybe next week I will go to Port Irene to destroy the Lamborghini and other sports cars there,” Mr. Duterte said in a speech in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, on Thursday during the town’s celebration of its foundation day.
He has authorized the destruction of smuggled cars as a warning to car importers who evade paying import duties. —JULIE M. AURELIO
