Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III on Wednesday admitted that he was disappointed at having been disqualified as a candidate for the Ombudsman post by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) due to a pending case of syndicated estafa filed against him in 2012.
“The process was unfair. They denied me due process,” Bello said in a press briefing.
He said the case falsely alleged that he headed a corporation that was accused of violating the law. —Tina G. Santos
