LUCENA CITY – Police arrested an armed drug pusher and three suspected drug peddlers in separate raids in Quezon province on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Operatives armed with a search warrant collared Marvin Arida, 34, in his house in Barangay (village) Manggalang Tulo-Tulo in Sariaya town around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director.
Authorities seized an improvised homemade shotgun with four bullets and four plastic sachets containing shabu (crystal meth) weighing less than one gram.
In Candelaria town, authorities busted Marilou Sarmiento, 48, and her associate, Marlon Escobar, 34, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Malabanban Sur around 6:20 p.m. Police seized two sachets of shabu weighing less than a gram each.
In Mulanay town, policemen also armed with a search warrant arrested Melvin Peregrin, 33, in his house in Barangay Bagupaye on Tuesday noon.
Peregrin, a former drug surrenderer, yielded three sachets of shabu containing a total of less than one gram. Policemen also seized shabu- sniffing paraphernalia inside Peregrin’s house./lb
