Zubiri elated over House’s move to ratify Bangsamoro Organic Law

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri said he was “overjoyed” over the House of Representatives’ swift ratification of the bicameral conference committee report on the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

“I am overjoyed at the House of Representatives’ decision to prioritize the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law,” Zubiri said on Tuesday.

No objections were raised by members of Congress present during the session.

Zubiri added that he will “eagerly await the President’s signature” and hope that “this signing will mark a new era of just and dignified peace for our brothers and sisters in Muslim Mindanao.”

Before the session started, newly-elected House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said in an interview with reporters that BOL would be ratified within the day.   /vvp
