Police nab Laguna, Manila tourists for marijuana possession in Mt. Province

BAGUIO CITY – Four visitors from Laguna province and Manila were arrested on Monday (July 23) for possessing P850,000 worth of marijuana bricks at Cable Cafe in the Mountain Province capital Bontoc town.

Freelance graphic artist Edward Francis Cea, 26, of Sta. Rosa town in Laguna; call center agent Christine de Guzman, 29, and former hospital employee Carla Amor Ong, 30, both from Calamba town in Laguna; and Caloocan City businessman Jericho Perez, 22, were caught with 24 bricks of marijuana and four tubular marijuana stalks, according to the Cordillera police.

The arrest were made by the Bontoc police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, who acted on a tip.

The police said the group came from Tinglayan town in Kalinga. The suspects were taken to Camp Dangwa, the Cordillera police headquarters in Benguet province, where they were charged for violating the anti-drug law.
