BATANGAS City, Philippines—Candidates of Miss Earth 2011 arrived here Sunday afternoon at the Pontefino Hotel and Residences in Batangas City for pre-pageant activities later in the evening.
Thirty candidates aboard two coasters arrived at the hotel around 2:30 p.m. for a swimwear fashion show at 7 p.m. and a tree-planting activity on Monday at 6:30 a.m., Pontefino senior vice president for operations Felly Ramos said.

Ramos said that the crown hopefuls will display their best swimwear at the hotel poolside, and will promote their personal environmental advocacy.

Ramos said that Miss Earth candidates from Macau, Japan, and two others will also be showing off their talents in a mini-talent show to entertain hotel officials and guests.

Early Monday, candidates will each plant a Fire Tree at the garden side of the hotel.
