Party drugs suspected to be ecstasy tablets were seized during a buy-bust operation by elements of San Juan City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) at Barangay Ermitaño on Monday night.
Police also arrested the suspected pusher, Ireneo Paraon III during the bust.
According to a report submitted to the Eastern Police District (EPD), the operation was conducted after authorities received a tip that Paraon, a resident of Barangay Pasadena, is still involved in drug peddling in the area.
Paraon was arrested after handing the ecstasy tablets to an undercover police officer in exchange for P500, along F. Santos corner N. Domingo streets.
According to the EPD, Paraon, who arrived at the scene on a motorcycle, was also supposed to deliver other drugs to a club in Quezon City before he was apprehended.
Arresting officers also found three other sachets of party drugs, suspected to be ecstasy tablets, from the compartment of Paraon’s motorcycle.
San Juan SDEU added that the bust is part of an intensified campaign against drug users and dealers.
Police said Paraon will be charged for violation of Article II of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He is now detained at the San Juan police headquarters. /muf
