Monsoon rains to continue; LPA might enter PAR in 48 hrs

from Pagasa website

The existing southwest monsoon will continue to bring rains in many parts of the country despite the absence of a weather disturbance, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.

Luzon and Visayas will remain affected by the monsoon, hence, rain will persist in these regions, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area (LPA) recently spotted east of Central Luzon is predicted to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the next two to three days. Pagasa said the LPA has no direct effect on the country so far.

Monsoon rains will be experienced in Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro, and Palawan while occasional rains will likely occur in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, rest of Central Luzon, and Western Visayas this Tuesday.

Overcast skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will affect the rest of Luzon and Visayas.

Mindanao, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers, according to Pagasa.   /kga
