Fire destroys houses in Manila

A fire broke out at a residential area in Sampaloc, Manila early Tuesday morning.

The blaze damaged at least four houses on Mindanao Street corner Gerardo Street in Barangay 581, a report from dzMM said.

Authorities said the fire reached first alarm and was declared under control at 6:56 a.m. Investigators were still determining the cause of the fire as of this posting.             /kga
