About 2,000 people joined a rally led by the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) Negros at the Bacolod Public Plaza carrying an effigy of President Rodrigo Duterte looking like a demonic-looking Pinocchio and a banner that said “Sobra Na, Tama na, Tapuson Na.”

Michael dela Concepcion, the spokesperson of Bayan-Negros, said the Duterte effigy was meant to show that people no longer believed what the President would say, having failed to keep his promises.

The rally was staged on the day that the President delivered his third State of the Nation Address during a joint session of Congress at the Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City. /atm
