Malacañang described on Monday as “unfortunate” the failure of the House of Representatives to ratify the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).
“We find it unfortunate that the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) was not ratified before the adjournment of today’s session of the House of Representatives,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.
“We consider this as a temporary setback in the administration’s goal of laying the foundation for a more genuine and lasting peace in Mindanao,” Roque added.

However, Malacañang remains confident that President Rodrigo Duterte would sign the BOL when both houses of Congress eventually ratify the bill.
The Senate ratified earlier on Monday morning the BOL ahead of Duterte’s third State of the Nation Address (Sona). /vvp
