Cavite placed under state of calamity

The province of Cavite on Sunday was placed under a state of calamity due to persistent heavy rainfall from the southwest monsoon or “habagat” and consecutive typhoons.

Cavite Gov. Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla told citizens in a Facebook post to refrain from going outside their houses and observe safety measures.

“Mag-iingat ang lahat kung maaari at huwag nang lumabas ng kanilang bahay. Nasa state of calamity na ang coastal towns ng ating probinsya,” he said.

Classes in all levels, both in public and private schools, have also been suspended in Cavite on Monday. /cbb
