Militants converge on Commonwealth, Philcoa for #Sona2018

Militants staged anti-Duterte protests along Commonwealth Avenue-Philippine Coconut Authority (Philcoa) on Monday morning, hours before the President’s third State of the Nation Address (Sona).

Protesters from Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan), Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), and PIGLAS-LIGA, among others, have set up a demonstration along the major highway to call for Duterte’s ouster.

During the protest, some militants were seen handing out leaflets to motorists and jeepney passengers.

A “Dutertemonyo” effigy was also displayed by protesters to paint Duterte as a “fascist.” /cbb
