Former vice mayor in Maguindanao killed in Sultan Kudarat
TACURONG CITY – Police have launched a manhunt against unidentified gunmen who ambushed and killed a former vice mayor of Maguindanao in Barangay New Isabela here Friday night.
The victim, Roger Mamalo, 63, former vice mayor of Sultan sa Barongis in Maguindanao, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Louis Hospital in Tacurong City, according to Supt. Joefil Siason, Tacurong City police director.
Siason said Mamalo was driving his car heading for home in Barangay New Isabela when two men standing by the roadside opened fire, using a .45 cal pistol about 8:20 p.m.

Relatives claimed Mamalo had no known enemies.
The motive of the attack remained unknown. Siason said investigation continues.
