NAGA CITY – Vice President and opposition leader Leni Robredo said on Friday that the opposition is for balance and not necessarily to rebuke all the decisions of the administration.
“Pag kailangang magreklamo, magreklamo tayo. Ipaparinig natin ang ating boses, kasi kung lahat kinokontra mo, hindi ka nyan effective,” she said.
“Sa mga bagay na we feel strongly about na kailangan kontrahin, hindi natin ito papalampasin,” she added.
(If we need to complain, let’s complain. Let us have our voices heard because if you contradict just everything, then you are no longer effective. For things that we feel strongly about and need to oppose, we will not let them pass.)
Robredo said the opposition’s role is to unite the same voices and views.
“Yung iba-ibang boses pag-iisahin natin, dahil pag mas malakas ang boses, mas papakinggan tayo ng administrasyon, she said.
(We will unite the different voices because if our voices are strong, the administration will listen to us).
“After all, this is the very essence of democracy,” she added during her visit in this city Friday.
“We arrive at good policies because all sides are heard and as the opposition leader, I believe we can do it,” she said.
