NAGA CITY – Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday said she wants to hear President Duterte address the alarming issues in the country on his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 23.
“On the first SONA of course we heard the president’s aspirations for the country and on the succeeding, SONA we want to hear the achievements of the administration,” Robredo said during the press conference for “Angat Buhay,” her office’s flagship program, here.
(In the coming third SONA, we want to hear about the issues plaguing our country, like the inflation rate, the rise in unemployment rate, based on the latest survey despite economic growth, and where this campaign against illegal drugs is going.)
“Gusto natin malaman ano ang ibig sabihin nito at ano ang plano,” she added.
(We want to know what these mean and what the plans are for it.)
When asked if she would attend the third SONA, Robredo said she would despite some people suggesting to her not to.
(There are people suggesting to me not to go because I might get insulted again but that is the obligation of the Vice President. I won’t lose anything if I would be insulted, I’m ready to face anything.)
