NAGA CITY — The flagship project of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), “Angat Buhay,” continues to push through despite lack of funds, Vice President Leni Robredo said.
“Our office doesn’t have much fund for ‘Angat Buhay’ but that will never hinder us from helping the poor families,” Robredo said in a speech during the launch of “Omasenso sa Kabuhayan,” the local farmer’s version of Angat Buhay here.
“Our office will be the one which will bridge poor communities to the organizations and business corporations that are willing to help them,” she added.
The OVP has various programs such as building classrooms and health care centers, feeding programs, providing capital funds for local farmers, and livelihood projects for agri-entrepreneurs.
According to Robredo, the project aims for inclusive economic growth. The project has already helped 155,000 poor families in 176 cities and municipalities across the country, mostly in the agricultural provinces. /ee
