Isabela vendor shot dead by motorcycle riders

ECHAGUE, Isabela – A vendor was killed on Wednesday night (July 18) as he rode home with a companion in Barangay (village) Tuguegarao, police said.

Dexter Andaya, 36, was riding a motorcycle with John Kelvin Timbreza when they were attacked at 8 p.m. by two men who were on board a second motorcycle.

Andaya was shot at the back of the head, killing him instantly.

Timbreza fled on foot and sought refuge at a house in the village, but the killers rode off by the time the authorities were alerted.

Forensic investigators found an empty shell fired from a Cal. 45 revolver at the crime scene. The police have yet to determine why Andaya was killed.
