DBTC teams book crucial wins

Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) football teams posted three crucial wins yesterday in the resumption of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field, North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

DBTC blanked Children’s Paradise Montessori School (CPMS), 1-0, in the Players 6 while in the Players 8, defending champions DBTC 1 finally put its campaign on track with an 8-0 bashing of own sister team DBTC 4.

DBTC’s third win also came from the Players 8 category with DBTC 2 demolishing another sister team DBTC A, 7-0.

Other winners in the Players 6 category were Bright Academy which blanked MABES FC, 3-0; Giuseppe FC which whipped Bright Academy, 7-0; and Canduman Dedon which edged BMALV, 1-0.

The match between San Roque Football Club (SRFC) and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) ended in a scoreless draw.

Canduman Dedon also had a successful stint in the Players 10 with a 3-0 blanking of CPMS while defending champions SHS-AdC made up for its default loss with a spectacular, 9-0 demolition of DBTC 2.

Other teams who posted victories in the category were Center for International Education (CIE) 2 and MABES.

CIE blanked DBTC 3, 2-0 while MABES annihilated BMALV, 6-1. Springdale and DBTC 5 ended their match with a 1-all draw.

Springdale, however, made up for the draw with an impressive 11-0 spanking of SAIS FC in the lone Boys 14 match.

Posting wins in the Boys 12 category were Subangdaku Football Club (SFC) who had an easy win after Cebu Eastern Colleges (CEC) defaulted their match; Giuseppe FC with a 7-0 blanking of MABES; Bright Academy with a 13-0 win over SAIS and Springdale with an 8-0 demolition of Colegio dela Inmanculada Concepcion-Mandaue (CIC-M).

In the lone Girls under 17 match, SHS-AdC dumped St. Theresa’s College, 5-0.
